The Peace Lab didn’t start as a perfect plan, it started as a feeling

Starting this business wasn’t easy. I didn’t have everything figured out. I didn’t have unlimited money. I had to learn as I went, make mistakes, and keep pushing even when I felt unsure.

The Peace Lab founder story preview featuring Amber Trimm

I just knew I wanted to create something that felt calm. Something that felt like peace. Not just for other people, but honestly for myself too. I’ve had my own struggles with anxiety and depression, and there were times where everything just felt overwhelming. Even simple things felt heavy.

The Peace Lab is still growing. I’m still learning. I’m still building. But this space is personal.

That’s where The Peace Lab was born. Amber didn’t just want to open a spa, she wanted to create a space where people can come as they are, switch off, and feel taken care of, even if it’s just for an hour. Starting the business wasn’t easy: there wasn’t unlimited money, everything had to be learned along the way, and there were days where mental health made the weight of building feel even heavier.

The Peace Lab is built around Japanese Head Spa treatments, but to Amber it goes deeper than scalp health and hair. Opening in Elsies River means creating a soft, high-quality space in a place where experiences like this usually feel out of reach. And if someone walks in feeling heavy and leaves even a little lighter, then she knows she’s doing what she was meant to do. This is only the beginning.
